The Academic Institute for Special Needs (AISN) was established in response to the need for private special education providers to have an accreditation process that uniquely addresses their programs and the population they serve.

Our Vision:

Empowering children with special needs & their families to live a quality, productive & fulfilling life to attain their maximum potential in society.

At AISN we promise to...

  • Maintain a safe, interactive and enriching environment for learning
  • Nurture unique learning styles and honor individual differences
  • Support the discovery of individual talents and abilities
  • Provide integrative developmental solutions for children and their families
  • Utilize natural developmental progressions to promote integrated growth
  • Foster cooperation within the special needs community
  • Equip individuals with tools that enable life-long learning and growth

Students enrolled in member organizations are special needs students who have a physical, mental/behavioral, educational or emotional disability that requires special attention and a specific teaching approach. This process involves planning individual teaching and coping procedures, adapting equipment and materials designed to accommodate these pupils to learn and succeed in their schools, clubs, and community. AISN's accreditation is intended to train and enhance the students' educations and activities and therefore requires more credentials than educators who teach general education. In most cases, the special education curriculum is similar to that of the general education curriculum. This curriculum retains courses in math, reading, writing, social studies, science, and other basic subjects. AISN promotes and values special education courses which are adapted to suit students with special needs.
